Job Summary

CenturyLink EMEA is increasing the size of our cloud professional services team. We are recruiting a multi-cloud practice lead who will directly manage a team of eight individuals responsible for professional services across AWS, Azure, and VMware based clouds. The team consists of Plan and Design Architects, Build and Migrate Developers, Run / Operate / Optimize Developers and a Project Manager. The Cloud Professional Services team will help customers achieve their digital transformation goals by delivering cloud strategy planning and assessments; design, rebuild, migrate and deploy services; and bespoke managed services. The Director of Consulting is responsible for delivering these professional services end to end spanning both business level scope definition, technical strategy, operational implementation and ongoing optimization. The Director of Consulting is also responsible for the advancement of automation capabilities across team work product and cloud platforms; leveraging services, APIs, scripting languages and orchestration tools such as CenturyLink’s Cloud Application Manager. The Director of Consulting also needs to develop and managed a team skills matrix and training plans for continual learning and other activities to accomplish company objectives and client satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Develop strategic accounts to deploy and integrate IT solutions

  • Provide product improvement feedback to Product Quality teams monthly including specific application and customer feedback

  • Ensures integrated solutions sold to facilities are deployed and meet customers expectation through coordination

  • Develop “expert knowledge” in technical knowledge, applications, strategic and tactical sales skill and competitive product knowledge at the expert level

  • Must be proficient in presenting and discussing all products

  • Provide input for design and strategy for networking of wireless and wired solutions.

  • Operate within the approved expense budget for the fiscal year.

  • Communicate and be aware of market and competition activities, business conditions, and new product needs as it relates to the Technology Manager’s area of expertise including competitive IS products both strengths and weaknesses.

  • Negotiate contracts and develop relationships with key facilities, Integrated Delivery Networks and 3rd Party IT vendors who service hospital systems

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key customers


  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Cloud Technology Services

  • 5 Years’ experience with AWS and Azure

  • 5 Years’ experience managing teams delivering IT solutions and services

  • Awareness of Continuous Integration/ Continuous deployment using technologies like chef, puppet, python, bash, PowerShell, API integration, Lambda, Rocket, Docker and paravirtualization technologies

  • You have subject matter expertise regarding IT systems spanning servers, operating systems, databases, web servers, middleware, networking, storage, compute, virtualization, and security. You love working with cloud platforms and keep up on the latest services and technology advancements across AWS and Azure.

  • You enjoy attending, representing and evangelizing at industry events

  • Acting as a cloud evangelist with our team, customers, partners and the wider market

  • Presenting at relevant cloud focused events, including with partners and customers

  • You have experience architecting, building, monitoring, managing and optimizing large scale infrastructure deployments for applications on AWS and/or Azure.

  • Serve as scrum master across the team: serving the team where needed, removing blockers or impediments that hinder project progress, coaching the product owner, monitoring the progress of the sprint, help the team estimate and increase velocity, promoting continuous communication, facilitate sprint planning and other scrum meetings, monitors and helps improve team dynamics, lends support to whatever part of the project needs assistance at a certain time, motivates the team, acts as the glue that holds the team together.

  • You have a Bachelors Degree and have the ability to obtain security clearances.

  • You are AWS Solutions Architect/AWS Cloud Practitioner or Developer/SysOps Administrator certified

  • Experience working with popular linux distributions and Windows Server

  • AWS Professional Architecture certification
