Job Summary

The CenturyLink Director of Consulting – Cloud Architects is responsible for establishing and continual improvement of the Consulting Cloud Practice for Cloud and Hybrid IT Solutions. Responsibilities include the management of the regional (US) Cloud Architect, practice capabilities, cultivation, and go to market strategies. Responsibilities include improvement and management of the Cloud design and deployment process, solution scoping approvals, solution deployment and delivery, related migration activity, 3rd party Cloud PaaS services. Responsibilities also include the cultivation of automation capabilities in cloud platforms, APIs, and industry scripting languages for improved application agility. Responsibilities include defining success criteria and KPIs for process management, business health, and operational improvements. Executive Dashboard and Metric creation and presentation. Team Skills Matrix and training plans for continual learning and other activities to accomplish company objectives and client satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Management of Cloud Architect and global capability creation

  • Improvement of Design and Deploy process include Statements of Work, Estimating Models, Process Flows

  • Management of Migration process and toolsets

  • Management and development of Automation capabilities, repository, blueprints and script recipes

  • Collaboration and Management for Training Methodologies

  • Global Resources talent management

  • Partner with Global Technology Organization and Product organization for Standardization template

  • Measure and improve operating metrics and KPI

  • Responsible for Billable Ready Time Utilization and leveraging resources adequately for billable work and administrative tasks

  • Responsible for the Estimation Models, SOW Templates, Internal Solution Center Training Material and Customer facing decks for practice areas

  • Manages strategies and tactics to meet contractual obligations and to achieve increasing delivery service throughput.

  • Supervises Managers to effectively monitor, maintain and measure workflow and staff development within organization.

  • Responsible for Accuracy of Estimation for SOW based delivery work

  • Responsible for Monthly reporting and adherence to KPIs and organizational metrics

  • Identify, create business case and implement upon approval process improvement strategies for department.

  • Travel for client meetings and required business needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Cloud Technology Services

  • 5 Years’ Experience with AWS and Azure technologies and associated credentials

  • 5 Years’ Experience managing IT organizations.

  • Intimate Optimization and arbitraging skillsets for financial tracking

  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge of Cloud providers, Amazon, Azure, Google, CenturyLink, Hosting data center architecture (WAN infrastructure technologies, Data Center, IP VPN Virtual Services, Managed Servers and Applications)

  • Understanding key components of IT implementation architecture and best practices

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Advanced Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Development Expertise in Chef, Puppet, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and API Integration; Lambda, Rocket, Docker and other para-virtualization technologies

  • Strong interpersonal, written, presentation and communication skills.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, with demonstrated ability to determine root cause to performance shortfalls and implement corrective actions.

  • Ability to develop effective key collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries.

  • Strong customer relations.

  • Persuasive, fair, impartial, sets high standards and establishes clear focus and direction

  • Knowledge of CenturyLink offerings, products and services, solutions and client base

  • Knowledge of process for delivering CenturyLink products and services.

  • Background in financial reporting

  • Experience in launching new organizations and practice areas Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
