The Technology Analysis & Integration Network Team (TA&INT) Manager is responsible for providing strategic vision and guidance to the Principal Engineer and Engineering Team Manager through network design, testing, analysis, and integration. The team will consist of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from multiple technical disciplines. This position will report directly to the Engineering Team Manager.
Lead and oversee the TA&INT for Technical Reviews, Analysis of Alternative (AoA) studies, Request for Change (RFC) documentation, Test Plans, Test Reports, Implementation Plans, Engineering Design Packages (EDP), and any other engineering function or document specified for the team.
Work closely with the Principal Engineer, Technical Project Manager, Field Engineering Manager, Integration Lab Engineering Manager, and Tier II Engineering Manager to establish sufficient designs, share objectives, and synchronize priorities.
Provide technical consultation, lab testing, and documentation on a broad range of topics and issues using SMEs on the team to include:
Optical transport design and modeling
Outside Plant (OSP) design and oversight
Dark Fiber planning and reservations
Fiber Optic Characterization (FOC) testing coordination and test results evaluation
Inside Plant (ISP) design and oversight
Alternate DC power backup solutions
Routing and switching design for network management and customer delivery applications
Server and application engineering support
Cyber security and Information Assurance engineering support
Encryption equipment and application support
Lab design and testing execution
Participate in regular customer and internal engineering meetings as scheduled.
Take direction from the Principal Engineer for design and implementation guidance and documentation contribution to include Change Control Board (CCB) documentation, EDP equipment designs and cable running lists, and lifecycle management.
Manage the Engineering and Design (EAD) Lab and coordinate testing as needed.
Interface with customer contacts periodically as needed to ensure the design and planning is synchronized with established objectives. This includes regularly accessing classified networks and phone systems to communicate as well as customer site visits.
Perform personnel management duties to include timesheet approvals, travel approvals, expense report approvals, periodic performance evaluations/reviews, hiring activities, training, and any other tasks specified by upper management or corporate policies.
Provide guidance to engineers performing complex design, development, and implementation work by established goals and processes.
Recommend changes to established polices in research, design, planning and development of new advanced technologies, components and communication/data transmission.
Responsible for presenting technical information related to specific projects or tasks and communicating schedules and timelines.
Travel requirements potentially up to 10%
Current TS/SCI clearance required
Bachelors degree or higher level degree required
At least one year of previous supervisory / leadership experience required
8 to 10 years related technical experience in multiple technical disciplines and engineering preferred
Technical certifications a plus
Must already possess or have the ability to achieve a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAM Level I certification within six months of hire
Bachelors or Equivalent in Engineering Management or Engineering General
