The Voice Technician II should have an intermediate understanding of Voice Network functions such as SS7 signaling or SIP protocols for Soft Switch or Circuit Switch Voice Platforms. Performs tasks associated with the maintenance and installation and change of company voice network. With a good understanding of telecommunications, the Voice Technician II will be responsible for effective communication via phone, email and in system notes/orders. Possessing a working knowledge of Windows operating systems is expected.
Efficiently install, change and repair services on the network. Coordinate and perform low to mid-level migrations.
Provides technical training to Tech I level personnel.
Provides accurate and consistent customer communication during established intervals using phone, email, and ticketing notes.
Escalates, for higher order support, to technical leadership and Management.
Operate in multiple systems and databases as required.
Works with internal peer teams to assist with customer trouble resolution.
2 years of college or technical school in electronics or telecommunications preferred.
Entry level experience and/or knowledge of at least one of the three major technical disciplines: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7) and TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols).
Strong analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize workload
