Job Summary

Under general direction, develops, tests, modifies, debugs, and documents Essbase software solutions that satisfy the requirements of one or more user areas. Provides hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance, and enhancement of existing applications. Devises logic procedures and assists in production deployments. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation.

Job Description

Support, monitor and maintain the Essbase environment. Perform server maintenance, stop and start services, and environment troubleshooting. Set up and audit Essbase access, troubleshoot and resolve user issues, perform outline updates, and verify that all cubes are in synch. Complete tie outs and data verification.

Monitor and trend performance on the Essbase cubes, data loads, and outline metadata. Utilize technical best practices for data extraction, data loads, data quality, data cleansing, aggregation and other Essbase related activities.

Design, develop, maintain, and performance-tune Essbase cubes and load processes using Essbase Administration Services, HAL, SQL, Unix, ksh scripting, esscmd, maxL and MDX. Develop and maintain all reporting tools in the Essbase system including Hyperion Planning, Financial Reports, and Cost Center Reporting Tool (CCRT).

Create and maintain technical documentation related to the Essbase system, cubes and processes and communicate to users and management. Communicate and train stakeholders on moderately complex solutions.

Under general supervision, develops and maintains adhoc and strategic Essbase reporting that is sustainable, manageable, and consistent. Participates in meetings with key stakeholders to understand current data systems needs and to identify opportunities and solutions. Assists in the development of requirements, accurate LOEs (Level of Effort), and priorities for moderately complex solutions.

Qualifications

Fully seasoned with typically 5+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education.

Developing experience with Essbase and the load processes required. Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to adapt to continually-changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes required. Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Financial Reports, SQL, Unix, ksh scripting, esscmd, MaxL, MDX preferred.
